Engineering Labs

Engineering Laboratories are decorated to study, test and measure the sizes, features and performance of machines and machine elements. For different types of tests and measurements, Mechanical Engineers require the following laboratories:

Metrology and Instrumentations (MI Lab)

The Metrology Lab is designed for the linear, angular and tribological measurements. The Linear measurements include a wide range of length, breadth and thickness measurements, depth and height measurements, internal and external diameter measurements, etc. The Angular measurements include the measurement of angle between two intersecting lines or surfaces, such as groove angle, thread angle etc. The Tribological measurements include the measurements of surface roughness, flatness, etc.

Apparatus and Instruments used:

Measuring Tape, Steel Rule, Slide Calipers, Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gauges, Bore Gauges, Filler Gauges, Pitch Gauges, Thread Gauges, Sine Bars, Regular Calipers, Odd Leg Calipers, Protractors, Bevel Protractors, Dial Indicators, Surface gauges: Universal Surface Gauge(USG), Clock Gauge, Surface Plates, Flatness Gauges: The Kemet Flatness Guage, Optical Flats, SF-640M, etc.

The Instrumentation Lab is meant for the calibration of apparatus and instruments. Calibration in regular interval is essential for maintaining quality of the products.
